The Top 9 Games based on Anime
< This is why we love Anime XD
Let us just tell you first, notice it says 'Based on Anime', which means it has to be released on Anime first. So that means no Pokemon or Eternal Sonata or Final Fantasy believe it or not.
Number 9: Gurren Lagann: Superior Excavation Online
< Yoko - Gurren Lagann
We heard that Gurren Lagann had a computer game... an extremely glitchy computer game. Gurren Lagann was so epic, its epicness could not be confined to a disk. The epicness of Gurren Lagann literally broke the game, and it glitched. The end.
The game was cancelled at the closed beta stage, as installing the game crashed Windows indefinitely. Konami even had to send out 500GB external hard drives to beta users so that they could back up files while reinstalling their operating systems.
Any Game that can crash Windows, especially Gurren Lagann deserves to be here!
Number 8: Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship 2010: Reverse of Arcadia (DS)
We had to put a Yu-Gi-Oh game in here, this is the most recent one with the most up to date card collection. Most of them are the same other than the cards, so we chose the most recent one.
Number 7: One Piece (GBA)
The only One Piece game to be released in the US and one of the two that made it out of Japan. Surprisingly it had good visuals and sound effects, however it brought nothing new to the platformer genre. It also won Gamespy’s GBA Game of the Year back in 2005-2006.
Number 6: Gundam Battle Assault 2 (PS1)
It may not be the fastest fighter type of a game. But it benefits from the slow style as you get to focus on the stunning graphics of the robots and active scenery. Truly amazing for its time.
Number 5: Bleach: Heat the Soul 6 (PSP)
With a roster of over 50 playable characters, this is undoubtedly the best Bleach game to date. Unfortunately this game is only available in Japan. It is available on the Japanese Playstation Store though so If you have money on a Japanese PSN account, we say don’t hold back!
Number 4: Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja 5 (PS2)
The Best Naruto game so far. The most characters in any Naruto game and some of the best cell shaded graphics in gaming history.
Number 3: Jump Ultimate Stars (DS)
It features basically every major anime/manga character known today. You could think of it as Anime version of Super Smash Bros. Ichigo vs Goku or Naruto vs Yugi, that just equals awesomeness.
Number 2: Dragon Ball Z: The Legacy of Goku II (GBA)
One of the best RPG’s we have ever played. It feels like you are dragged back in to the Anime but in a good way, as you are in control of the battles. The text on the game is word for word with the anime, when the characters speak. It just makes it feel that more genuine.
Drum Roll Please.........
Number 1: Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 (PS2)
It really comes down to preference hear as Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 have more or less the same features. Budokai however uses the more Classical 2D Background with 3D characters gameplay. Tenkaichi is where you have full control of your character. Budokai in our opinion is not only the Best Game Based on Anime but one of the Best Fighting Games Ever.
We would love to hear your own opinion on The Top Games Based on Anime!
